Nagarkot is a famous place to see the mountain ranges and sunrise. It lies at an altitude of 2211m and is located 30 km north east of Kathmandu. It is the nearest place to see Mt. Everest from Kathmandu valley. In fact if the weather is clears one can see Annapurna range too from Nagarkot. Other famous mountains that can be seen from Nagarkot are Ganesh, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and Gauri Shanker. Though Mt. Everest is far from Nagarkot, it can be viewed from the Nagarkot Tower. The mountain flight that goes each day to show Everest and other Himalayas from Kathmandu goes via the Nagarkot route.

Price For The Trip: The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons, the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.

Trip Itinerary :

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu. and Transfer to Hotel. Includes: (A).

Day 2: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. Includes: (A), (B).

Day 3: Kathmandu – Sundarijal – Chisapani (2150M) 5hrs. Drive from Kathmandu. To Sundarijal. trail climbs up through mixed forest and pass the Mulkharka village to Chisopani Danda. In a clear day there are good views of mountain from east to west. there are good view of mountain and Kathmandu. Valley. Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Chisapani – Nagarkot (2163M)5 to 6hrs. An interesting trail takes us to the hill retreat of Nagarkot, perched on a ridge 32 km east of Kathmandu. It commands sweeping views of the Himalayas. Five of the world’s ten highest peaks, Everest, Lhotse, Choyu, Makalu and Manaslu are visible from here. Nagarkot is also a popular spot to watch sunrise and sunset. Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Nagarkot – Dhulikhel 6hrs. The trail climbs up to the tower of Nagarkot. From the tower there are excellent views of mountain including view of Mt Everest and Kahmandu valley. Trail descends through rhododendron forest and villages to Dhulikhel. In a clear day there are excellent view of eastern Himalaya. Includes: (A), (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Dhulikhel – Kathmandu, by bus. Includes: (A), (B).

Trail ascent steeply through forest to the ridge. From the ridge there are good views of mountain and valley. The trail passes many villages and terrace to reach to Namoboudha. There are some interesting Tibetan monastery.

Day 7: End of Program (B)
