Program 2 : Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking 5 days

Trip Itinerary in Details :

Day 01: Pokhara drive to Nayapul – Trek to Tikhedhunga [1540m]
A scenic 1 hour drive from Pokhara takes us to the starting point of our trek. Crossing the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola river, we ascend slowly through terraced fields and classic mountain villages. Along the way we will encounter mule or goat caravans carrying supplies to the mountains, heralded by the musical bells they wear. The stunning peaks of Machhapuchare and Annapurna peaking over the green ridges will greet us from time to time as we continue up to Tikhredhunga.
Accommodation: Local Tea House
Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani [2775m]
Today begins with a real heart-starter! We have a steep ascent to get us going and then a more gradual uphill walk takes us to our camp at Ghorepani. We will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful, dense rhododendron forest so characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes! If the weather is clear we will see stunning mountain views from Ghorepani, making the climb well worth it! At Gorepani, we are on the main Annapurna Circuit route and there are likely to be lots of travellers passing through this ridge-top settlement in both directions. Ghorepani literally means “horse water” and is a popular stopping place for the mule trains which ply the route from Pokhara to Jomsom and beyond. The impressive peak which can be seen across the broad valley of the Kali Gandaki to the northwest is Dhaulagiri.
Accommodation: Local Tea House
Day 03: Sunrise at Poon Hill (3200m) – Trek to Tadapani [2650m]
It is an absolute must for those who stay at Ghorepani to make the walk up to the celebrated view point of Poon Hill [3195m], which overlooks the village. Dawn is the best time to go so we arrange a wake up call for 5 am and head up the well marked track by torchlight. The first light of dawn illuminates Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak with a surreal pink glow.
You may be able to buy coffee and breakfast from an enterprising local who has carried his produce up to Poon Hill to take advantage of the morning trade. Otherwise, we return to Ghorepani for breakfast, before trekking on to Tadapani through rhododendron forest.  If we are lucky we will see some wild animals, such as langur monkeys climbing through the trees. There are excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare from Tadapani.
Accommodation: Local Tea House
Day 04: Trek to Ghandruk [1950m]
From Tadapani the trail descends through beautiful forests to Ghandruk, which is a stunning village of Gurung people, one of Nepal’s most famous ethnic groups, known for their distinctive dialect, culture, costume, and life style. Ghandruk is also home to many soldiers from the famous Gurkha regiments. From here we can have stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Fishtail.
Accommodation: Local Tea House
Day 05: Trek to Nayapul – drive to Pokhara
We can enjoy a final down hill walk through forest and villages for about 5 hrs to Nayapul. From here we drive for about 1 hour back to Pokhara where our trek ends and we can enjoy a shower and relax on this stunning lakeside town enjoying the memories!

Program 3 :Everest Panorama Views Trekking 8 days

Trip Itinerary in Details :

Day 01: Flight to Lukla & Trek to Phakding [2656m]
A spectacular flight and hair raising landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla [2800m]. After meeting the crew, we head up the Dudh Kosi Valley on a well-marked trail to our first camp near the river at Phakding.
Day 02: Trek to Namche [3450m]
From Phakding, we cross and re-cross the river on high suspension bridges. Beyond Monjo is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve this fragile mountain environment. We then ascend quite steeply to Namche and along the way, if the weather is clear, catch a first glimpse of Mt Everest in the distance. Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu and has a busy Saturday market – a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have crossed the glaciated Nangpa La. Our camp is near the bazaar at Namche.
Day 03: Rest day at Namche Bazaar
Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops and souvenir shops as well as a magnificent outlook. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day, acclimatising to the new altitude before heading off towards Thame. Options for acclimatisation walks include a visit to Khunde, where you can see the famous hospital built by Sir Edmund Hillary, a vital part of health care in the region. Alternatively you can take the one hour walk up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche for an incredible sunset view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest. There are also good views from the National Park Centre and Museum just above the village.
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche [3846m]
Ascending from Namche Bazaar, we ascend past the airstrip at Syangboche and the Japanese-built Everest View Hotel, taking in the magnificent views up the valley towards Everest. We walk to the picturesque village of Khumjung (3786m) which has many beautiful houses and a gompa (Buddhist monastery) at the top end of town.
Heading east from Khumjung, we pass a large chorten and then descend to a bridge across the Dudh Kosi at Phunki Tenga. From the river the trail ascends through a forest of pine and rhododendrons, before arriving at Tengboche Monastery. The views here are truly awesome, from the beautiful Ama Dablam to Lhotse and Everest at the head of the valley. The gompa is the largest in the Khumbu and, although it has been rebuilt since a tragic fire in 1989, it is well worth a visit.
Day 05: Excursion to Pangboche [3908m]
A day excursion today to Pangboche Monastery and the nunnery at Deboche. First we ascend to the lovely twin villages of Pangboche. New Pangboche has the tea houses and shops and Old Pangboche is home to the oldest monastery in the Khumbu. Founded in 1667, it houses relics said to be the skull and hand of a yeti. Today’s highlights are, not only the gompa and nunnery, but the truly magnificent views of Ama Dablam, one of the most stunning mountains in the Himalayas and the beautiful rhododendron forest just out of Tengboche.
Day 06: Trek to Chumoa [2700m]
From Tengboche, we head back down through the forest to Phunki Tenga with its water-driven prayer wheels. With last glimpses back to Everest and Lhotse, and possible sightings of thar and lammergeier, we make our way back down to Namche before descending further to camp by the river at Chumoa.
Day 07: Trek to Lukla [2800m]
Our final day’s trekking follows the Dudh Kosi back down to Lukla. This last evening in the mountains is the ideal opportunity for a farewell party with the sherpa guides and porters, where we can sample some chang, try Sherpa dancing and look back on a memorable week!
Day 08: Flight to Kathmandu
Early breakfast and head to the airstrip for the return journey to Kathmandu.
