Tansen is the headquarter of Palpal, situated at the height of 1350m, about 350 km from Kathmandu and 65 km from Pokhara. The ancient hill town Tansen has been derived from the Magar word “Tansing” means the northern settlement. Mainly, Magars in Palpa and Newars in Tansen inhabit. The main religion of the people is Hinduism and Buddhism.
Tansen is rich in culture of Magar as well as Newari. There major festivals are Dashain, Tihar, Bhagawati jatra, Ropai jatra, Ganesh jatra, Amarnarayan jatra, Bhaag jatra, Maghesakranti, Lakhe, Bhimsen jatra, Gai jatra, Janai purnima, Ridi fair, Saytawati fair, Holi, New Year, Shivaratri, Parbas mela and many others. In Tansen, there are lot of ancient typical monuments, Tansen Durbar, Amar Narayan Temple, Bhagawati Temple, Siddhi Binayak Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Bhimsen Temple etc.
In ancient time Tansen was the capital of Palpa kingdom ruled by the Sen Dynasty on 16th century. When Prithvi Narayan Shaha united Nepal, Palpa was under control of Gorkha.
Palpa is also famous for various kinds of handicrafts. One most popular product is a typical water-jug, Taksar is made of bronze crafting is still developing. The skilled craftsmen of Taksar produce not only Karuwa (Bronze Jar) but also artistic idols, animal, birds etc. Palpali Dhaka is the other famous product of thread in Nepal which needs skill and hard labor to weave this cloth.
‘Srinagar Hill’ is at the top of Tansen at the height of 1600m from where there are excellent views over the Kali Gandaki river, Mt Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhare, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal etc. as well as green valley view around Tansen.?

Day.1 Arrival at the hotel, offered welcome drinks.Your guide will explain about the program.

Day.2 Early in the morning, hike to Shrenagar view point across the greenness rhododendron and pin forest with professional local guide, from where panoramic view of greenness hill top around Palpa-Tansen, sunrise as well as excellent views over the Kali Gandaki, Annapurna, Dhaulagir, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhare, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal etc. Decends by walking, afternoon, visit historical monuments of Tansen, Tansen Durbar, Temples, Buddha bihar, church as well as handicraft Bronze craft etc. Hotel Standard included.

Day.3 Departure to Ridi bazzar 30km by private vehicle, Ridi is situated on the banks of Ridi Khola (stream) and Kaligandaki River. Visit very famous Rishikesh temple, established by late king of Palpa Mukunda Sen in 1507 AD, Saligram found on the banks of Kaligandaki river, to whom hindu worship as Lord Vishnu, Discover Ridi Bazar and cave near by this temple.
On the way, visit Bhairab Temple, 9 km far from Palpa, Pratap Sumsher Rana constructed this temple. Where the biggest Trident “Trishul” (a symbol of God Shiva) in Asia. During the great national festival of Hindus, people sacrifice five different cattle, know as ‘Panchabali’.
Or [ Departure to Ranighat Durbar (Ranimahal) about 8km walk down from Palpa (2hrs) on the bank of Kaligandaki River. It is know as Tajmahal of Nepal. Which is built in 1949 BS by Commander in Chief Khadga Shamser in mamory of his beloved Queen Tej Kumari. The complex including a huge main building surrounded by garden, stone wall and small shrine, around 5hrs walking. ] Hotel Standard included.

Day.4 Departure form Palpa to Kathmandu or Pokhara by private vehicle.
