Some time of mid May and June, here will held a special festival on the full moon day. This full moon is called “Saga Dawa”. This particular day is very important day for the both religion Hindus and Buddhist. There will be quite big crowed of tourists and pilgrims on this day. What tourist? What Hindu? What Buddhist? Mt. Kailash is is stunning, beautiful and popular for everyone.

How to get there?:- Tibet’s land is touched with Nepal. Nepal is the main transit point to travel any part of Tibet region. Some of the travelers are coming through Beijing and visit Lhasa and come to Nepal as well. To visit Mt. Kailash most of the travelers go through Nepal. With the co-ordination of Nepal and Tibet travel and trekking company, 99% of tour will be operated Nepal and 99% of travelers goes to Tibet under Nepal’s travel and trekking company.

Arrangements: You have to send your all the required details to the company before your arrival in KTM and generally the Tibet visa confirmation has to be confirmed. After your arrival we will collect your passport and apply for group visa.

Mood of transportation: Any of Tibet trip can be start by driving 4/5 hours to the border between Tibet & Nepal at Kodari. We have to cross the friendship bridge with walking and catch the Tibet’s transportation. The second way is we can take an hour flight to Lhasa from Kathmandu and can start the journey from there too. Jus to visit Mt. Kailash we can drive to Kailash from Nepal and drive back to Kathmandu with out going towards Lhasa.

Required period: There are many different itineraries you can select as per your timeavailability. You will need at least two weeks to visit Mt. Kailash and to visit Mt. Kailash and Lhasa together you will need at around 3 weeks. Please check the itinerary which we have posted on our website. If that itinerary is not suitable for you, we can make an suitable itinerary as your wish.

Mt. Kailash/Mansarovar

At a height of 22,028 ft., Mt. Kailash lies in the western part of Tibet. It is a glaciated rock pyramid. In terms of religion, it is important for Hindus & Buddhists. In ancient times, it was thought to be the center of the universe, from whence several sacred rivers originated. It lies to the north of the high altitude lakes Mansarovar and Rakashesa. This area appeals to scholars, researchers & nature lovers. The mountain is home to different species of wild birds, animals & vegetation.

Trip Itinerary [ One ]

MOUNT KAILASH MANASAROVAR YATRA -15 DAYS.

Day 01: Katmandu (1300 mts.) Arrival, Our representive will meet at the airport and escort to the Hotel, Free at own and Evening dinner, overnight stay at Katmandu.

Day 02: Katmandu – After breakfast start to Katmandu sightseeing including Pashupatinath and Budha Nikanth Darshan, back to hotel and rest of the day is free for packing and program briefing.

Day 03: Katmandu to Nyalam (3700 mts. – 160kms.) – This is the first day of the Yatra. After breakfast depart from Katmandu to China border by reserved tourist coach. It takes about 05 hours. Our agent will complete custom formalities and check into Tibet – an autonomous part of China. After lunch drive to a small Tibetan town called Nyalam by Land Cruiser. Overnight stay at Nyalam Guest House. Breakfast and dinner in camp side and packed lunch will be provided.

Day 04: Nyalam Full day acclimatization – Full day free for excursion of Nyalam city.

Day 05: Nyalam to Saga / Dongba (4500mts. – 375kms) – After breakfast drive from Nylam to Dongba for about 08:00 hours. Overnight stay at Dongba in tent or guesthouse.

Day 06: Saga / Dongba (4500mts. – 335kms) to Paryang / Chui Gompa – After breakfast drive from Dongba to Chui Gompafor about 07:00 hours. Overnight stay in tent or guesthouse.

Day 07: Stay at Mansarovar (4510mts.) – free for pooja and hawan, This is the first day stay at the bank of the Manasarovar Lake. Overnight stay in tent or guesthouse.

Day 08: Mansarovar to Darchen (4600mts. – 110kms.) – Mansarovar Parikrama by Land Cruiser. We will choose the special point to take dip in Manasarovar Lake and do Pooja of Lord Shiva. Full day free for spiritual activities. Drive around 2.30 hrs to Darchen and overnight stay there. Astapad excursion can be done at extra cost.

Day 09: Darchen to Diraphuk (4890mts. – 12kms.) – This is the first day of Kailash Parikrama. We should start our journey after breakfast as early as possible. This day we have to walk continuously for about 6 to 7 hours. Yak will carry all our goods and equipment. Overnight stay at Diraphuk in tent.

Day 10: Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790mts. – 22kms.) – This day is very sensitive and we have to pass Dolma-La Pass, which is 5400 mt. above sea level. The weather in unpredictable in Doma-la Pass and at any time snowstorm can fall. So we try to start our journey
as early as possible. In route we can have Darshan of Gaurikund but it is very difficult to go and touch. Overnight stay in route to Zhulthulphuk in tent.

Day 11: Zhulthulphuk to Horquo – We will Trek down to Darchen later our tour starts back for Kathmandu following the same route and same system applies for all subjects of our accommodation and meal.

Day 12: Horquo to Dongba – Drive back to Dongba.

Day 13: Dongba to Nyalam – Drive back to Nyalam, which is the last stay in Tibet part.

Day 14: Nyalam to Katmandu – After custom formalities we will be picked up by Nepal side and continue drive to Kathmandu for about 05.00 hours and check into same hotel.

Day 15: Morning check out hotel, transfer to airport, catch flight for next Destination.

Trip Itinerary [Two]

Day 1: Arrival KTM, transfer to Hotel: Arrival in KTM, transfer to Hotel (1330m). On your arrival your passport, visa fee and trip remaining amount will be collected. Today, you may eat the dinner at the hotel or go out to eat.

Day 2: Kathmandu: Today we prepare for next day departure. We will check our equipments like sleeping bag, down jacket, your belongings. We will pack every thing today. Your suitcase will be stored this evening at the hotel. You will have only your duffle bag. We will go to bed early today because we have to leave early morning to the airport. We will inform you the time when to be ready.

Day 3: Fly to Lhasa, transfer to 4 star hotel (3600 m): Today we will leave to airport early morning. You will have early morning breakfast. We will see a fantastic mountain view while you are flying. This flight will be about two hours. After landing at Lhasa Gongar airport we will drive to Lhasa city for about 2 hours and check into the hotel Himalaya.

Day 4 & 5: Rest, acclimatization & Sightseeing day in Lhasa: Lhasa is the capital of Tibet. This is very modern city now. Today is our acclimatization day and also we will visit some major places like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple etc. You can spend a whole day walking around the Jokhang temple by watching daily pilgrim’s activities.

Day 6 : Drive to Sigatse & transfer to 4 star hotels (3900 m.): Today we will leave early morning from Lhasa to Sigatche. This will be about 7 to 9 hours on the road. We will leave from hotel at 7 am in the morning. We will stay at one of the best hotels in Sigatse. Sigatse is second largest city in Tibet.We will be driving through a very beautiful valley and continue through Gyantse to Sigatse. Sigatse will be your last good hotel and hot shower till you return to Kathmandu.

Day 7: Thingri: This morning we will visit the famous monastery “Tashi Lamphu” and continue our journey to Latse through the beautiful Tibetan Plateau. We will meet our Nepali staff (cook, guides and other helpers). We will continue our journey with full camping supplies from now on. We may stay in Local lodge or camping.

Day 8: Drive 7-8 hours. Camp or lodge at Paryang: Today we will see first view (Kailash Darshan) Mt. Kailash. Today’s driveing is very smooth through beautiful valley. Before we reach to Mansarowar, we will take our picnic lunch prepared by our staffs.

Day 10: Camp or lodge at Darchen (2 hours drive)

 Day 11: Trek around Kailash, Camp at Dera Phuk(Camping only): We will leave from Darchen around 10 am today. We have to drive about 15 minutes to the trekking start point. Then we start our trek. today we walk about 4 hours slowley. Yaks willcarry all our gears.

Day 12: Trek around Kailash, pass Dolmala Pass.Crossing Dolmala is the hardest part of this trip but it will be worth your effort. It is not strenous to pass this Dolmala pass. Walking around the Kailsah and Gaurikunda is great experience.

Day 13: Mansarobar.This morning will trek about 2 to 3 hours to Darchen and drive to Mansarobar and spend the rest of the day around the lake.

Day 14,15,16 & 17 Drive to Kathmandu

Day 18: Trip concludes in Kathmandu. Transfer to airport.

Price For The Trip: The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons, the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
