Although not as popular as Annapurna and Everest trekking, Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley trek is one of the best trekking trails in central Nepal as it passes through Lari pass (4750m), and High pass (3850m).This non-tourist trekking trail lies in the Manaslu trekking region, home to Ganesh Himal. Ganesh Himal is named after the Hindu elephant-headed God of Good Fortune. This trek gives one the opportunity to experience the authentic, untouched Tamang and Gurung settlements on higher altitude, gorgeous terraced farms and marvelous sceneries of Ganesh Himal and other mountains of Annapurna, Langtang and Manaslu region.

Lari top is another an excellent view of the massif Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung , Manaslu and Lamjung Himal. Besides the massive mountains, there’s so much to see and explore like the sacred lakes; Ganesh Kunda, Parvati Kunda and Seto and Kale lakes and places of worships; Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries. One will also be surrounded by colorful rhododendron hillside forests, an excellent habitat for extensive varieties of rare plants and wildlife; 526 species of plants (including 40 species of orchids), and 300 species of birds.The Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley trekking begins from Bhalche, a five hours drive from Kathmandu and ends at Ganesh Kunda, from where you make the journey back via Tatopani. This is a sixteen day trek and the best time to set on this trek is during March and April when the forest blooms with rhododendron.

Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley Trek hasn’t been explored as much as other well-known trek. This trek has lacks tea houses, basic insfracture and other forms of lodging. Therefore, home stay is a common option for lodging on this trek.

Trip Itinerary in Details :

Day 1 Kathmandu to Bhalche 1850m 6-7 hrs Kathamndu to Valche 7hrs. 1810m. Bus leave early morning from Kathamndu through the scenic view of landscape and traditional village. It is a mesmerizing and interesting driving. Over night at Camp.
Day 2 Bhalche to Gonaga (Lunch) Rupchet 3250m 6 hrs After your breakfast the path goes uphill for short time and have a breath taking views of Valche village. The path is gradually up hill but not a tired. Walking through the sub tropical jungle and continue to Rupchet.
Day 3 Rupchet vi a Singla Pass (4220 m) to Pangsang Pass 3842 m 6-7 hrs The days are long but first your trek goes through the rain forest to crest offers the best mountain including all Lang tang range. Manaslu range,Ganesh Himal range and Annapurna in 270 degree. After the view the long way down hill to Sertung village.
Day 4 Pang Sang Pass to Tipling-Chalish 1674m 5hrs. Descend to Tipling where is large Gumba is situated. Buddhist religion are practice in the village. You can experience local vegetation and indigenous people in this area.
Day 5 Chalish to Hindung (Gomba Danda) 2402m 4 -5 hrs Trek begins with some descend and ascends up to Pasabar crest. Walking through the forest and Tamang village. Over night at Camp.
Day 6 Gomba Danda to Thulo Dhunga 3337m 4-5 hrs Your trekking path continues steep up hill and meet few pasture land and small huts for summer herds.
Day 7 Thulo Dhunga to Base Camp (Nojet Kharka) 3691m 6 hrs Again your trek is going up hill as you are going to cross crest. Few times mountain views can be seen along the trek.
Day 08 Thulo Dhunga to Base Camp (Nojet Kharka) 3691m 6 hrs Today is your Exploration day for view and recover you powers.
Day 09 Nojet Kharka to Kharka 3900m 5 hrs Your trek is up and down as always to Nojet Kharka. Over night at Camp.
Day 10 Kharka to Ganesh Kunda – Ruby area 3500m 5-6 hrs) To day we are trekking into Ganesh Kunda which is a holy and scret place. You may experience about the Shaman culture.
Day 11 Ganesh Kunda – Tatopani (Hot Spring) 1250m 5-6 hrs. You are trekking gradually down hill through the dense forest to Hot Spring. Over night at Camp.
Day 12 Tatopani (Hot Spring) – Lapa Gaon 1850m 5-6 hrs Following the stone steps British Gurkha camp. Your trek continues to suspension bridge and arrived at Lapa Gaon.
Day 13 Lapa Gaon to Magne Goth Pass 2950 m 4 hrs This village is the source of Ruby minerals and along the way big boulder will pass.
Day 14 Magne Goth –Tinsure 1850m 5-6 hrs Trekking to Tinsure passing beautiful junge of Alpine and Rhododendron forest. Over night at camp.
Day 15 Tinsure to Ganga Jamuna to Budhathum 850m 5-6 hrs Amazing landscape and some mountain view can be seen and long way descend to Budhathum.the perfect camp sites.
Day 16 Budhathum to Kathamndu by bus. 6-7hrs.

The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek.
